Conditions for obtaining a social scholarship
- the student must not exceed the limit of 26 years of age,
- must have a recognized qualifying family income, established for child benefit purposes, which does not exceed the amount of the Living and Subsistence Minimum of the family and a coefficient of 1.5,
- must deliver the Confirmation for the purposes of applying for a social scholarship to us.
Confirmation for the purposes of applying for a social scholarship
The Confirmation for the purposes of applying for a social scholarship issued by the State Social Support Authority confirms that qualifying family income, established for child benefit purposes does not exceed the amount of the Living and Subsistence Minimum of the family and a coefficient of 1,5. Income received for the 3rd quarter of the year. It is necessary to deliver a new and current Confirmation for the purposes of applying for a social scholarship to us every year by the end of October.
AWARDING OF SCHOLARSHIPS
The scholarship is awarded in accordance with Section 91(5) of the Higher Education Act. The scholarship is always awarded to students who are eligible for state social assistance benefits, which include a child bonus, pursuant to the Act on State Social Assistance Benefits, provided that the relevant income of household members determined for the purposes of state social assistance benefits does not exceed the product of the family’s subsistence minimum and a coefficient of 1.5.
The scholarship is awarded for the standard duration of study, i.e., 10 months per academic year. The monthly amount of the scholarship corresponds to one-fourth of the monthly minimum wage, with the amount thus determined rounded up to the nearest ten crowns.
Eligibility for the Scholarship
A student proves eligibility for the scholarship by providing a written confirmation issued at their request by the state social assistance authority that granted the state social assistance benefit, stating that the income of household members determined for the purposes of the state social assistance benefit during the relevant period, which includes the month of September, did not exceed the product of the subsistence minimum for household members and a coefficient of 1.5.
The confirmation for the purpose of awarding the scholarship is valid for a period of 11 months from the end of September within the relevant period for which the household members’ income was assessed. A student may claim eligibility for the scholarship only once during a given time period.
Application for a social scholarship and award of a social scholarship
You must express your interest in the grant by completing the electronic form on the UWB Portal and sending or personally submitting the original of the Confirmation for the purposes of applying for a social scholarship to the Counselling Centre. The procedure:
- Log in to your UWB Portal.
- Click on “Studium” (Study) and “Moje studium“ (My Study) and “Moje údaje“ (My Data).
- Enter your bank account number, all grant money will be arriving in this account.
- Submit your Application for the Social Grant.
- Send or personally submit the original of the Confirmation for the purposes of applying for a social scholarship.
In the case of multiple studies, it is only possible to claim the social scholarship for one of them.
